A Little About Me

I'm Adriana, the face (and hands, and slightly paint-stained jeans) behind Texas DIY Mama. Before this was my full time thing, I was an RN. I spent years taking care of other people for a living, and honestly, I loved it. But after I retired from nursing, I needed something to do with all that energy, and it turned out what I needed was a hammer.

I'm also an autism mom, and if you know, you know. Life at my house is loud, busy, and never quite goes according to plan, which honestly describes most of my DIY projects too. I started documenting my home projects because I was tired of watching perfectly curated renovation videos that made everything look easy when it absolutely was not. My corner of the internet is different. I show the mistakes. I show the trip back to the hardware store because I measured wrong. I show what things actually cost, not what I wish they cost.

That honesty is the whole reason people trust me, and it's the reason brands come back to work with me more than once. My audience isn't looking for a polished showroom. They're looking for a friend who already tried the thing so they don't have to guess.

Who's Reading Texas DIY Mama

My people are beginner DIYers, budget conscious homeowners, and a whole lot of moms who feel a little intimidated by power tools but want to learn anyway. Most of them are here in Texas or dealing with the same climate headaches I am, which means heat, humidity, and homes that need a little extra TLC. They read my posts before they buy, and they trust my recommendations because I only talk about products I've actually put my hands on.
